Funny how I came across GAIA ... and so here I am ... willing to join this community of hopefull like thinkers.

I soon will be on a hike in the mountains and will to commune with the Oneness that will suround me as I find my desitination to meditate and feel a peacefulness with the world I live in.

Great hike today up Pima Canyon. The weather was perfect low 70's and blue skies. The hike is steep in some places but its worth the effort. About 45 minutes up the canyon is a "secret" spot I go to meditate. The water has been running fast and there is a small water fall there which provides wonder negative ions and the roar of water crashing down on the rocks is a wonder full sound to hear as I meditate. Here'sa couple of pictures.

Yes, today is my birthday.

Holly cow. Just yesterday I was in my twenties ... or was it my thirties ... no make that my forties. So how could today I be 61 years old? Wow! Life sure does go by fast ... with so much more I want to accomplish. 

Yes, I still do feel very young at heart ... but my gray hair and my eclectic wisdom I have collected along my life journey tell me it's time now for the next transition in my life to take its rightful place ... as I awake to the "Knowing" it is time for me to begin to see life with new and different eyes than I once did ... better eyes ... more understanding eyes ... kinder eyes ... more accepting eyes ... and much more loving eyes. And begin to see new things ... things I never knew existed and things I always wanted to see and experience ... even when I look into the mirror.

So today will be a new day filled with new adventures and enjoying them in new ways ... as I see them through my new eyes and wear a gentle smile of "Knowing" on my face that tells the world "I Love You".

Happy Birthday to Me!

This past weekend I went on personal mini-spiritual retreats into the mountains … and of course many things passed though my mind while hiking and during my meditations. (see pics in entry made on Feb 10, 2008)

One of the very important things I felt was that it was time to seal up the Void in my heart that I have kept open and carried around for sooooo long … always hoping and wishing that it would be filled with the gift of Love with the right women … and how many I did meet that I hoped might be the right one. But what I realized is I have been holding on to this painful Void … my “heart dream” so long now that it had become part of my emotional baggage … and this Void that I feel deep in my heart was no longer a Void at all but instead became a repository of broken dreams. 

Yes ... this is how I feel ... waiting ... waiting  ... waiting ... yet no response ... no response from you.

You know who you are.  You who have teased me ... taunted me with false hopes ... dreams that will remain just that ... broken dreams ... my heart is heavy ... but this too shall pass ... but it will never be forgotten ... oh no ... with important lessons once again revisited ... lessons I have learned so many times before ... lessons I know so well ... and yet have never learned these lesson at all.

"Step away ... Step away" the lesson teaches.

But I can not step away as I am blinded by this enchanting hope of false dreams that waves it beautiful face in front of me. Maybe one day I can ... maybe one day I will find the courage. Who knows, maybe even this time?

 

As Our Spirit Awakens

That's how it is ... as our Spirit awakens within our beings ... to willingly join us and participate along our life's adventure ... with eyes we have not looked thru before ... and it says to us, "Hello my friend. Let us continue this journey together as one."

For it is both the "who" you are today and your wonderful Soul full of wisdom and beauty that I have come to know ... and today appreciate the opportunity of saying to you, "Hello my friend."

A Day To Reflect On
My gosh ... quite a day to reflect on. So many things to think about ... so many things. Got home last night around 8PM ... lit a fire in the loft fireplace and watched the flames dance to a Rachmaninov piano concerto as I reflected on the day.

My Reflections:
Grateful for what I accomplished today and feeling a little lonely with just myself to share them with.

Some days I feel I know exactly where I am and how I fit not only on planet earth but in the entire universe ... and some days I feel lost in my own back yard. Today a little lost.

Love is where it's at ... Love makes it all worth while. I need to appreciate so much more all the Love that is offered to me ... as it is offered ... and from all who offer it.

Tomorrow will be another day ... and I will awake to the beautiful symphony of life and all the people I will be with in the days to come. 

Thank you Spirit. Thank you my Soul ... for being my foundation that holds me up and lets me walk tall and come from Love in all I do.

Peace

There is the exoteric (outer) side to the world … the obvious … the tangible … what is in plain view for all those who look. Then there is the esoteric (inner) side … the things that are not tangible … the words between the lines … the understanding and deeper meaning to actions of words and relationships.

And as you may haved discovered there is nothing new … the walls of our mind are lined with books of ancient wisdom … for some of us, it is re-discovering and finding the books that call to us in our library of the mind … while for others the books are silent. It is during the spiritual journey that this rediscovering takes place.

And for us to then glean the lesson and put it in practice … and moving forward down the path … always sharing knowledge with those around us based on personal experiences … with those who are open to it … and even with those who are not open to it but are ready … to those who have a willingness to listen and a desire for change and evolve to a new awareness of the relationship to Self …and the World … and of God and the Infinite.

My spiritual journey is one that calls to me everyday … and even when sometimes the exoteric world may seem bleak … the esoteric world joyfully greets me each day when I wake with a knowing that all is OK.

Is it really this simple ... this beautiful? If you choose it so. When you are open to finding the “other” discoveries just waiting for you to harvest in ... you will know.

 1. The difference in being “no where” and being “now here” is ...
         ... where you place the space between words and so it is in life.
 2. Shift from having fears to having curiosities about those fears.
 3. To be truly free … take your attachments and let them go.
 4. Shift from control to trust.
 5. Shift from the feeling of entitlement to that of being humble.
 6. Don’t get caught in needing more and more … but learn to live in a feeling of contentment.
 7. **If there is just one prayer you should say every day …
          ... it is the prayer that says “Thank you God”.
 8. Move from rigid thoughts to “soft” thoughts.
 9. Make flexibility in thought your companion in life.
10. There is a time for everything … good and bad.
11. True nobility is rooted in humility.
12. The journey if a 1000 miles begins with one step
13. Be connected to thoughts of well being
14. See your self not as being separate but as being connected to everything
15. **Having wisdom is knowing that “I am nothing”.
       Having Love is knowing that “I am everything”.
16. Being strong is being able to bend.
17. **When you have the choice of being “right” or being “kind” … be kind.
18. There is no way to happiness … Happiness is the way.

I dedicate this thought to the wise women I have met on GAIA who are making differences in the world in their own way ... and humble myself to their wisdom. I am often overwhelmed when I read about their accomplishments and  insights and words with a wonderful perspective of Understanding that feels refreshing and authentic. They seem to have their own personal Knowing that offers me new perspectives to consider that I can add to my own Knowing of how It is.     Thank you.    Namaste

Found Answers

Here I am ... miles way from home.
No one to care for, my life is quite alone.

I seem to be searching, yet I know not what I’m trying to find.
I guess the answers to the questions, man has always had churning at his mind.

Things like, “How to be happy?” And … “What is life about?”
It’s questions like these, That has left my mind in doubt.

And when I think I’ve found the Answers, all I ever really have,
Are more questions about these Answers.
It’s enough to drive me mad.
