Three Smiles and Three Drops of Rain

As I think of you this day …
       I send you three smiles and three drops of rain.

The first smile is for your inner beauty
     that shines so bright.

The second smile for your eyes that continue to see 
     the beauty all around you that most can not.

And the third smile for being the beautiful person
    that you are.

So what you ask are the three drops of rain for?
    To water your beauty and watch as it grows.

The Book of Distance

Yes, my wonderful GAIA friends most of us do physically live far apart and we perhaps may never have the opportunity to meet face to face.  But instead we choose to know each other on dimensions that go beyond the physical.  And for this I say “Thank You”.

Now imagine that our story of knowing each other were a book titled “The Book of Distance” right along side other great story books … and we were young students studying “The Book of Distance” for the first time.

Our insightful Teacher asks, “Tell me my students, what are the lessons that you can learn from this beautiful story?” Of course as always, we each tried to be very smart and intellectualize along with the other students in our class and come up with answers to Teacher’s question hoping for his praise. 

“Things about patience” one student shouted out … another said “It teaches us what Love is all about”.  A few moments went by … then I shouted out, “It teaches us why it is important to Dream the Impossible Dream”. The Teacher grinned as he heard our wonderful responses from his diverse group of young students. Finally you shouted out, “It teaches us to never stop believing in ourselves.”

So many lessons to learn from The Book of Distance … but we will have to turn the page and begin reading the next chapter to find out more. Will you turn the page and read on? As for me, I can not stop reading.

I often lead Divorce Recovery support groups in our community as a volunteer. When I do, I share with the group Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’ 5 Stages of Grief model so they might understand and apply it to their own personal loss and grieving process.

In this model it is clear that people will go in and out of all 5 stages during this process many times.  And it’s when a person can feel comfortable in the stage of “Acceptance” with clarity … then the healing of the heart and soul has begun and life for that person soon begins again.

That is where I am at in my life. You see I feel I have been unknowingly grieving for most of my life … about important things I lost as a child and as an adult … the loving things in life that I may have experienced for only but brief moments in time and sometimes never at all.

And now finally after much trial and tribulation, I have made it to the stage of Acceptance … of who I am … and who I am not … of my transformed belief system as it continues to unfold … and most important my relationship with myself … and with God.

And now I accept that my healing journey has completed … and it is time to begin my next journey … a journey with opportunities to smile and enjoy life … in new and wonderful ways I have yet to experience … with a pure heart and soul to share with those around me. I am glad I am where I am in my life … and so look forward to tomorrow … again and again and again.

 A brief encounter that had no time,
 A brief encounter that had no space ...

"Are you ready? Now that's the question.
 To be all that you want to be?
 Where is this place you are going?
 Tell me where my Gypsy Queen."

"What does it look like in your mind?
  And how does it feel in your soul?
  Is now the time you can have it?
  Tell me more my Gypsy Queen."

"So many questions, where are the answers?
  Only time alone can really say.
  It all will happen if you let it.
  Tell me when my Gypsy Queen."

"But aren't the questions the real answers?
 Can this question really be?
 So who are you, the ‘question' or the ‘answer'?
 Tell me please my Gypsy Queen."

  ... A brief encounter that now has happened,
 A brief encounter now with time and space.

Imagine if each of us just 1 day a week ...
   No make that just 1 day a month ...
   OK I'll settle for just 1 day a year ...

We were willing to invite a homeless person
  or a family living in poverty into our  homes
  for a loving dinner ... just imagine.

I do believe this would make God very happy,
  that is if you have a God.

Who will join me ... who?

Who is Kind enough ... who?
Who is Brave enough ... who?
Who is Loving enough ... who?
Who is Humble enough ... who?
Who is Thankful enough ... who?
